What is a BLUE Day?

Seasonal Changes: WINTER
Ask me what happens when it is a BLUE DAY at Hawkwood School...

•Patrols open the outside doors as they are not outside at the crosswalks
•Students to come in quietly and wait until 9:00 to come into the classrooms
•Indoor recesses
•If any door is locked, come around to Door #1 (Office Doors)

When the wind and temperatures drop below -20, we are indoors.
Today we were in at the morning recess, but by noon, it was beautiful outside and we could play in the snow.  Teachers build in lots of movement breaks on Blue Days, but these are challenging days as we all need fresh air to thrive at school...

Remember to dress for the weather as we are outdoors whenever possible:
• Boots
• Snow-pants
• Warm Jacket
• Mittens/Gloves
• Hat
• Scarf or Neck Warmer
•Dress in Layers (We have Gym everyday and we get super hot if over-dressed)
•Water Bottle

Kindly label all outdoor winter clothing...helps to reduce "Lost and Found" items!
   STAY WARM FRIENDS!  Bundle up....

Mrs. Campanelli will do what the animals do in winter.... hibernate!!!  LOL
