World Teacher Day-October 5

Home Journals and Photo Orders came home today!
Today, students learned how to make a list.  They then listed things/people they were thankful for.   Enjoy some of their choices! 😆

In addition, there is a Grade 1 "No Excuse" word list attached in your child's Home Journal.  This list features high frequency words your child should be able to read and write independently by the end of Grade One.
Feel free to play games with these words to help support your child throughout the year and point out these words during your Home Reading times.

Ask your child about the work we did with our buddies today around mental health and being mindful of our emotions and how those feelings can navigate our relationships with others and how we feel about ourselves.

Looking Ahead...
Colour Wheel items due Monday-thank you for those who already have contributed!
Fun Snack Wednesday (Booster Juice/Kernals)

Enjoy logging onto Raz-Kidz and the beautiful "AUTUMN" weather this weekend!  😎

Exploration of COLOUR in Science

Ask your child if they can answer this...
Today we learned all about Primary and Secondary Colours.

Check out the link for our new favourite colours song.
Be careful it is addictive! Thanks Sesame Street... I am still humming it!

A HUGE thank you to the families who have sent in small colour items for our Colour Wheel.  However, we still need a lot more as only a couple of students brought items in... Please send more!

Library Learning Commons

Library Learning Commons Book Exchange Schedule

What day is your book exchange day?
Remember to bring your book bag and your books to return on your day each week.
Read your books at home with your family.
Use the reading strategies we have been practicing during "Read To Self" and "Read To Someone"

Fun Fact:
Did you know that Mrs. Wong will allow you to sign out extra books when you are researching information on your Home Project topic?  You just have to ask her and she will sign them out under Mrs. Campanelli's name.                                                              Happy Reading!

Exploration of Colour Launched Today in Science!
HELP!   For tomorrow Wednesday, October 2nd
Please send in any old, small items you have around the house that we can SORT into the colours of the Colour Wheel (red.yellow/orange/blue/green/purple).  We will be keeping and glueing these items onto cardboard as a class so please ensure they are small and relatively light.
Mrs. C is pulling out her glue gun!
Item Examples:  Crayons, straws, sponges, Lego, erasers, hair bands, gems, small craft items, stickers, plastic toys,  coloured popscicle sticks, rubber bands, pom poms, cars, etc....
